Town of Blato

Blato - CroMapsBlato is situated in the centre of the western part of the island of Korčula. Natural coves of Blato are Prižba and Gršćica on the south coast and Prigradica on the north coast of the island.

Blato - small town with rich historical tradition, an important economic and cultural centre of the region. Within the old town nucleus there is a cathedral (treasury, loggia and bell-tower). Famous for the traditional chivairous play Kumpanija, Dalmatian singing groups: recreation provided in various sports grounds, gymnasium, automatic bowling alley, table-tennis hall, chess room and weight room. Famous wines of Blato, natural brandy and highly recommended.

Due to its mild climate - 300 sunny days a year and good transportation lines - Dubrovnik and Split airports, ferry-services via Vela Luka and Korčula, bus services to Dubrovnik and Zagreb, tourists are offered to come and stay here all around the year.
