Town Sveta Nedelja

Sveta Nedelja - CroMapsSveta Nedelja town, which lies 13 kilometers west of Zagreb between the Sava and Okićkog Samoborsko Range, and traffic is open to Zagreb, Samobor, Jastrebarsko, Zapresic. In the area of the Holy Nedelje size of 65 km ² is located in 14 villages: Bestovje, Brezje, Jagnjić Dol, Kalinovica, Kerestinec, Mala Gorica, Novaki, Orešje, Rakitje, Srebrnjak, Strmec, Svetonedeljski Breg, Sveta Nedelja and Žitarka.

It's recognisable by its Holy Trinity parish church, which is located on a hill in the very heart of the village. It was built in baroque style with valuable ceiling ornaments. It is declared to be a historic monument of the second category. Some of interesting cultural monuments: castel Erdödy in Kerestinec dating from the16th century, the chapel of St.Roc with the impressive restored altar with the statue of St.Roc and the chapel of St.Mary Magdalen in Mala Gorica.

There are also attractive lakes and fischponds - Strmec, Orešje, Rakitje, Kerestinec - interesting for fisching and recreation.
