Town Zapresic

Zapresic largest settlement is far from the centre of Zagreb 16 km. Zaprešić is the third-largest, and most densely populated division of the county. The town is located northwest of the Croatian capital Zagreb, and near the Slovenian border. It is centered on plains north of the Sava River, and is bordered by Medvednica mountain to the east, and the Marija Gorica Hills to the west. The area includes the town of Zaprešić, municipalities Brdovec, Bistra, Jakovlje, Pušća, Marija Gorica, Dubravica and Luka.

Zapresic is surrounded with six preserved castles in the broader Zapresic area. Emerged during the 18. and 19. c. belong among the best copies in northwest Croatia (baroque castle in Upper Oršić Bistra Januševec and - according to some authors the most beautiful monument classic architecture in Croatia. The first category is the Baroque castle Lužnica in Šibicama, and other categories are Laduč and New Zapresic in the courtyard.
