Croatian Adriatic - a Sea with a Thousand Islands
The Adriatic has a length of 870 kilometers and a breadth of at most 210 kilometers. It is one of the most beautiful seas in the world. It is marked by a high degree of salinity, a special purity and warmth. The average temperature in the summer is between 25º and 27º degrees Celsius. Its greatest natural treasure consists of islands. The largest islands are Krk, Cres and Brac. Korcula is the most densely populated, followed in suit by Krk.
The beauty of Croatia extends along the way to the Adriatic sea - through the golden-green Slavonian plain decorated with enchanting oak forests, to the picturesque hills of the green Croatian Zagorje, over dark green fir forests and the colourful meadows of the Plitvice lakes, over the summits of Velebit, that eternal rocky old man shrouded in blue sky, the Adriatic sea can be glimpsed.
